LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne was in attendance when Simone Biles and Team USA clinched Olympic gold in the women's gymnastics team final at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Livvy commented on Biles’ teammate Sunisa Lee’s Instagram post celebrating the USA's victory. Lee captioned the post:
“olympic champions forever 🥇🥇🥇😭❤️”
Dunne’s comment resembled the winning message from the popular battle royale game "PUBG: Battlegrounds."
“Winner winner chicken dinner”
“We're honored to represent the US every time we get on a world stage but accomplishing that gold and that goal was just an amazing feeling. I think we all had something to prove from Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and tonight we did just that. It means the world," Biles said in aan interview after securing the gold.
Olivia Dunne predicted Simone Biles success at 2024 Paris Olympics
The LSU gymnast predicted Simone Biles' success at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Just 10 days before the Summer Games, Dunne spoke to Sports Illustrated on the ESPY Awards red carpet, confidently backing Biles.
"Simone has always been a GOAT and I think that this is like her revenge tour," she said. "What happened in 2020 was a freak thing, and I think that she’s out for revenge and she’s gonna probably win."
This is Biles's third Olympics; she already had four gold medals to her name before this victory. The 27-year-old returned to the biggest athletic stage after withdrawing from the 2020 Tokyo Games to prioritize her mental health.
Now, she leads a seasoned Team USA women's gymnastics squad, featuring veterans Sunisa Lee, Jade Carey, and Jordan Chiles, as well as newcomers Hezly Rivera, Joscelyn Roberson and Leanne Wong.
Olivia Dunne, on her part, has announced her return for her fifth and final year at LSU. She will help the Lady Tigers defend their crown next season.
