Wide receiver Omarion Miller joined the Colorado Buffaloes as a part of the 2023 recruiting class. In just two seasons, he established himself as an important playmaker in Colorado's offense.
Unfortunately, Miller injured himself during the Buffs' Week 7 loss to the Kansas State Wildcats. And now, head coach Deion Sanders has an update on his injury status.
Omarion Miller injury update
During Tuesday's press conference, Coach Prime announced that Omarion Miller is ruled out for the rest of the season due to his injury. Sanders said that the wide receiver underwent surgery to address his injury and will spend the rest of the season in rehabilitation.
"He had surgery yesterday, so I don't think he'll be back this season," Coach Prime said.
This season before his injury, Miller recorded 10 catches for 216 receiving yards in six games. Against Kansas State in Week 7, he put up eight catches for 145 receiving yards before suffering the injury.
Sanders had high praise for Miller as he said:
"Our message to him is to get yourself together when it's time to rehabilitate yourself and get in the right frame of mind so you can come out bigger, stronger, faster and better. Because the kid is, I would say fifth man, one of the best fifth men in the country.
"I'm proud of him. Proud of him for just staying focused, knowing he wasn't a starter but had the ability to start. But when he came in he gave you everything he had. Proud of him."
What happened to Omarion Miller?
During the Colorado vs Kansas State game, Omarion Miller was playing with a good pace on the field. But in the fourth quarter during a 51-yard reception, the wide receiver was hit with a hip-drop tackle and injured his left leg.
Miller was in visible pain as the medical team rushed to his assistance. The injury was severe enough for him to be helped out of the field on the sidelines. He later came out of the tunnel in a wheelchair with his left leg in a cast, indicating that he was out for the rest of the game.
Miller still has a few seasons of college football left, so he could still make an impression during his stint with the Buffs in the future.
