The Colorado Buffaloes' three-game winning streak ended after they suffered a narrow 28-31 loss against their Big 12 rival, the No. 18 Kansas State, on Saturday. On top of that, Deion Sanders' team faced another setback as it lost a key player to injury.

Colorado's star wide receiver, Omarion Miller, suffered an injury during a 51-yard reception from quarterback Shedeur Sanders against Kansas State with 13:46 left in the fourth quarter. Miller was in visible pain after the play and needed help to get to the sideline.

Miller's injury looks serious enough, as he did not return to the game. Later, he was spotted sitting in a wheelchair with his left leg in a cast, raising serious questions about his return.

In the post-game conference, Coach Prime said:

"I saw Omarion in a boot, kind of a cast. Thank god! We have everything we need here on the second floor in this wonderful building, but I haven't got an update on those particular young men. Hopefully, you know they could get back at it. But we are not going to rush them. Their health is much more important than this game."

This is not the only injury Colorado had as its two other key wide receivers, Travis Hunter and Jimmy Horn Jr. exited the game and did not return. These injuries weakened Colorado's offense, and it couldn't make a strong comeback in the second half.

Omarion Miller’s growth as Colorado’s target man

Miller has played six games so far in the 2024 season. In his first five games, he recorded two receptions for 71 yards and one touchdown. In the game against Kansas State, Miller showed his caliber, totaling eight receptions for 145 yards before leaving in the last quarter due to injury.

Last season, he had 11 receptions for 234 yards and one touchdown in 11 games. Miller has been emerging as a favorite target for Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, but his latest injury might impact his availability for upcoming games.

Who will the Colorado Buffaloes play next in Week 8?
