Jordan James will enter his junior season at Oregon in the 2024 college football season. The running back has been impressive for the Ducks since his freshman year despite the team's pass-centric offense and is expected to play a more crucial role in 2024.
Ahead of the Oregon fall camp, James is winding down time on social media. He gave a like to a selfie posted by Deion Sanders' youngest daughter, Shelomi, on Instagram on Saturday. The series of selfies were taken inside a car, and Shelomi was wearing some catchy jewelry.
Following the implosion of the Pac-12, Jordan James won't have to face Shelomi’s father in the upcoming season. The Ducks will now compete in the Big Ten while Colorado plays in the Big 12 next season. Against the Buffaloes last season, James rushed for 54 yards and 1 touchdown in seven carries.
A huge season ahead for Jordan James
Jordan James is anticipated to have a brilliant outing in the upcoming 2024 college football season. Dan Lanning was impressed with his performance during the spring, showcasing the level of expectation next season:
“Jordan’s running like an angry guy,” Oregon coach Dan Lanning said, as per Sports Illustrated. “Which is exactly how you want your running back to run. He’s out here really improving this spring.”
The running back became a starter in the team last season and is expected to play a more prominent role following the departure of Bucky Irving to the NFL. He appears ready to take on the challenge.
“I love the challenge,” James said. “I’m going to keep working and do what I do. Just getting in better shape and doing what I’m supposed to do on every single play and executing.”
Life under a new running back coach
Carlos Locklyn left his role as Oregon running back coach this offseason to team up with Ohio State. Ra’Shaad Samples has been brought in as replacement and Jordan James is happy with the adjustment under the new coach.
“We have to work through it,” James said after Locklyn’s departure. “Obviously, an unexpected loss of coach Lock, but I think we've done a great job just within ourselves, holding each other accountable and doing the things we were supposed to do while that process happened." h/t si.com
As Dan Lanning enters his third season in Eugene, there’s a lot of attention on Oregon ahead of the 2024 season. The Ducks will compete in the Big Ten next season and there’s an expectation that they secure one of the 12 College Football Playoff spots.
