The Football Writers Association of America released the 2024 Outland Trophy preseason watch list on Tuesday. The list recognized 75 returning interior linemen across all the Football Bowl Subdivision conferences.
Named after John H. Outland, the trophy has been awarded since 1946. The first edition of the award was won by Notre Dame’s George Connor and there have been 77 different winners after him. The 2024 winner will be the 79th player to be awarded the prestigious honor.
Texas' T'Vondre Sweat won the award last season, becoming the fourth Longhorns to earn the honor. Now with the Tennessee Titans in the NFL, he has a couple of his former teammates in Austin on the Outland Trophy watch list unveiled by the FWAA on Tuesday.
