CFB world left unimpressed as Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders secure no. 1 spots in EA CFB 25 rankings

The college football world has gotten their hands on EA College Football 25 and players aren't impressed with the rankings. The top quarterback is the Colorado Buffaloes' Shedeur Sanders, while the top receiver is Colorado's Travis Hunter.

Although the Buffaloes are not one of the top teams in college football, they still have two of the best players in college football. However, fans disagree with the EA CFB 25 rankings that have Sanders and Hunter on the cover.

"Overrated af," a fan wrote.
"Surely this is a joke, right?," another fan added.

College football fans didn't think the rankings should be the way they are, especially Shedeur as the top quarterback.

"Sanders isnt that good lol," a fan added.
"In no world is Shadeur Sanders better than Carson Beck," a fan wrote.

Other fans, meanwhile, think the hype around Colorado needs to quiet down as they don't think the team is that good.

"#1 most overrated team," a fan added.
"How much did they pay you to do that?," a fan wrote.

It's clear many college football fans are not pleased with how much hype Colorado is getting entering the 2024 season.

The Buffaloes are given odds of +1400, according to DraftKings, to make the college football playoff which implies just a 6.7% chance of it happening.

Travis Hunter on the cover of EA CFB 25

Along with being ranked as the top receiver in college football, Colorado's Travis Hunter is also on the cover of the video game.

Travis Hunter is joined by Texas' Quinn Ewers and Michigan's Donovan Edwards, and being on the cover is special for Hunter.

"It's just a blessing to be able to be on the cover," Hunter told ESPN. "We grew up watching this and looking at the covers, and now we're on it. When I was young, I waited till 12 o'clock to get every NCAA. It was my favorite game by far. I still play the old NCAA 14 to this day."

The three players were logical selections to be on the cover, according to EA.

"Donovan, Quinn and Travis are extraordinary talents who impressed and entertained millions of college football fans on the field last season and are poised to do so again this year," Daryl Holt, senior vice president and group general manager of EA Sports, said in a statement.

In his first year at Colorado, Travis Hunter recorded 57 receptions for 721 yards and five touchdowns, while he also played cornerback and added 31 tackles and three interceptions.
