The Texas Longhorns are set to shift from the Big-12 Conference to the South Eastern Conference on Monday. This move, which has been three years in the making, will see the NCAA Division I FBS team revive its rivalry with Texas A&M. The Aggies made a similar switch in 2012.

ESPN commentator Paul Finebaum looks excited by the change in a new video shared by SEC Network reporter, Laura Rutledge. The video shows the team preparing for their coverage of the move. As Rutledge panned the camera to Finebaum, he was seen throwing up the 'Hook 'em Horns' gesture.

Here is the video:

Joining UT on this move is the Oklahoma Sooners. These are the only two schools to win a national title while still in the Big 12. While talking on the "Paul Finebaum Show", SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey commented on the excitement within the two schools about the move.

"Having had the chance to see Oklahoma's president last week and talk about the excitement, Sankey said.
"I talked to (Texas Longhorns Athletic Director) Chris Del Conte today of their plans. Then to see the social media reaction to the logo being painted on the field at Austin and in Norman in advance of the football season is pretty cool and rewarding."

Texas coach Steve Sarkisian shared goals for Year 1 in the new conference

After disappointing results in his first two seasons in charge, Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian changed the team's fortunes last year as he led them to a 12-2 overall record. They won their first conference championship since 2009 last season.

With the realignment, the pressure is on Sark as he leads them into a new conference. Talking about the strategy to ESPN, coach Sarkisian said:

"We have to focus on what is our standard and what is our standard of play. Not to diminish the opponents but [we need to] keep the focus on us... And, you know, it’s made me think about it. I’ve used this term – be enamored with us."
"When certain games come onto our schedule, [then we have] to make sure that we were [not] getting distracted by our opponent, maybe an Alabama. And focus on what we need to do."

The Longhorns will begin their season against Colorado State on Aug. 31. Meanwhile, they will play their first SEC game against Mississippi State on Sept. 27.
