Following his 17 successful years at Alabama, Nick Saban was conferred with a huge honor in July. The field of the Bryant-Denny Stadium was named after Saban, who announced his retirement in January, following the approval of the Alabama Board of Trustees.
The field at Alabama's home ground will now be officially named “Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.” Saban, who already has a statue outside the stadium, solidifies his legacy at the program.
Ahead of the ceremony to dedicate the honor conferred on Nick Saban, the update has been made on Apple Maps. Saban's daughter, Kristen, shared a screenshot of Alabama Stadium on the map with the location name changed to “Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.”

Nick Saban expressed his excitement at the honor
Having such an honor in the world of college football is a testament to Nick Saban’s legacy in Tuscaloosa. He expressed his excitement at the honor following the approval by the Board of Trustees in May.
"We are humbled that The University of Alabama has honored us with the naming of Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium," Saban said in a statement in July.
"The remarkable success that the football program has achieved over the past 17 years is a reflection of the hard work of many student-athletes, coaches and staff. Being the leader of the process at Alabama has been the greatest privilege of my life.”
Nick Saban ended his time with the Crimson Tide with six national championships and nine SEC titles. He is now widely regarded as the greatest college football coach of all time.
Alabama fans anticipate the field naming ceremony
While Nick Saban won't be on the Bryant-Denny Stadium sideline in the upcoming season, he will be attending Alabama's first home game against UCF. The Crimson Tide will have a dedication ceremony to name the field after him on that day.
"We are thrilled to honor Coach Saban with the naming of Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium," Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne said in a statement.
"He is one of the greatest coaches of all time, impacting countless lives far beyond football. What he and Ms. Terry mean to The University of Alabama and the Tuscaloosa community is immeasurable. They continue to be tremendous ambassadors, and we look forward to celebrating with them in September."
There's a lot of anticipation among Alabama fans ahead of the historic moment. Saban's success at Alabama compares to none and it's the reason he will be admired for generations.
