Reports claim that Carson Beck plans to enter the transfer portal, retracting his decision to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. While it's still uncertain where the Georgia quarterback will play next season, ESPN's Pete Thamel has named a team that has emerged as the favorite to lure Beck.

"Per an ESPN source, Miami looms as the favorite to land Carson Beck," Thamel tweeted on Thursday.

Miami needs a top-quality signal-caller for next season since Heisman finalist Cam Ward is expected to declare for this year's draft. If the Hurricanes want to fill the void that Ward's departure will leave, Beck would be an ideal replacement.

However, there is still a possibility that Beck could regain his interest to enter this year's draft. His decision to return to the collegiate level appears to stem from the fact that he couldn't help Georgia in its College Football Playoff run.

Beck injured his right elbow in Georgia’s 22–19 win over Texas in the Southeastern Conference title game and was ruled out for the Bulldogs in their 23–10 loss to Notre Dame in the CFP quarterfinal on Jan. 2.

Carson Beck committed to Georgia in 2020 but redshirted his first season with the program. He then served as a backup to Stetson Bennett for two years, in which the Bulldogs won two national titles.

In 2023, Beck was named Georgia's starting quarterback and has held that role ever since. In his first season as a starter, the signal-caller threw for 3,941 yards and recorded 28 total touchdowns, as Georgia finished the season with a 13-1 record.

In 2024, Beck completed 290 of 448 passes for 3,485 yards and threw 28 touchdowns, with 11 interceptions. He also recorded 71 yards and one rushing touchdown, leading Georgia to an 11-2 record before his injury.

It remains to be seen where Beck will play in the 2025 season and whether he will transfer to Miami.
