The class of 2025's top football prospect, talented quarterback Julian Lewis, is a man in demand despite committing to coach Lincoln Riley's USC Trojans since August last year.
Last weekend, he visited Boulder for the third time this year on the last stop of his campus tours, which included visits with the Auburn Tigers and the Indiana Hoosiers.
On an Instagram story posted on his account on Friday from Panama City, Florida, Lewis gave coach Lincoln Riley pause with his choice of clothing. He wore Buffaloes-branded shorts, which were visible in the picture.
The Colorado community pulled out all the stops to make Julian Lewis feel welcome in Boulder. One restaurant named "The Sink" even created a custom burger and named it "Juju's Precision Pass Burger."
Greg Tell, the co-owner of the restaurant, revealed to ESPN that the gimmick was a recruitment tool by the Colorado Buffaloes.
"We had some members of [Colorado's] recruiting team contact us and ask if we wanted to play ball and we were in," Greg Tell said. "Anything to help draw attention to CU with Juju. We got intel that [Lewis] likes double cheeseburgers. So we kind of just created one real quick. It's kind of going crazy right now. We've had a lot already ordered today."
Julian Lewis positive about Colorado
Of all his campus visits, Julian Lewis has seemed most upbeat about Deion Sanders' project with the Colorado Buffaloes and the hype that they get due to the Coach Prime effect.
Lewis also spoke about the admiration he has for Buffs quarterback Shedeur Sanders and his impressive breakout season at FBS level. He even posted a picture on Instagram of himself on a throne, with the quarterback handing him a football.
During a recent episode of "The Five-Star Flex" podcast, On3 analyst Philip Dukes revealed that the visit to Boulder was impactful to the Lewis family.
“If I had to bust it down the middle, I wouldn’t lean any way with any of these schools,” Dukes said. “What I do think is that Colorado really gave the Lewis family a lot to think about this weekend. I think that Auburn is going to continue to push and I think that USC — as long as he’s committed to USC, I think you can never count them out, and I’d still say they are the leader because that’s where he’s committed to.”
The Deion Sanders hype train is showing no signs of slowing down, and Julian Lewis has already revealed that he fancies being part of the project, causing Colorado fans to dream.
