Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer turned 50 today, and he just got a heartwarming tribute from his daughter, Avery. The youngest DeBoer shared a childhood photo with her dad to celebrate the moment.

While DeBoer is focused on leading Alabama after taking over from Nick Saban, Avery’s post comes as a fresh outlook for fans who are still waiting to see more of him on professional and personal fronts.

The photos show Avery holding a trophy as her father, Kalen, hugged her proudly from behind and another one was from the Pac-12 championship.

"Happy birthday day...I love you so much!!!" wrote Avery.

Kalen DeBoer is settling into Saban’s shoes, as ESPN College Gameday’s Rece Davis implied that anyone would hit bumps coaching Alabama football in the new era. However, he did a fine job, as Crimson Tide started the season with four straight wins.

Kalen DeBoer introduces new tradition at Alabama

DeBoer isn’t just focused on wins. Entering into week 9 with a 5-2 record, he’s capturing Alabama fans’ hearts with a new Friday tradition that brings joy beyond the scoreboard.

Recently, the Alabama football team’s Instagram shared a moving video in which DeBoer invited two young Alabama superfans, Sawyer and his sister Ellis, to join the team on the field.

The post showed the two kids, warmly introduced by DeBoer as "really special guests" participating in the team's practice. The Alabama players cheered for them while they scored the touchdowns.

Beyond heartwarming moments, DeBoer also kept key traditions alive, like teaching freshman players “Yea, Alabama,” a ritual that dates back to before Saban’s time.

A post on X captured the football players learning the university’s fight song during the fall camp.

Kalen DeBoer’s 50th birthday grants the perfect opportunity to show fans more of his personal side. However, his professional commitment and introduction of new traditions have made him a favorite in the Alabama community.
