Coach Prime and his sons, Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders, are preparing for their second season with the Colorado Buffaloes. After transferring from Jackson State last year, Deion Sanders managed to secure only a 4-8 overall campaign during his debut with the Buffs in the Pac-12.
This year, the Buffs will begin a new journey as they once again become members of the Big 12 Conference. While Shedeur Sanders and the other players continue their training for the upcoming season, they also took part in Colorado's annual fall sports media days recently.
In a post shared by the Buffs on Instagram, we see snippets of the quarterback and his brother Shilo Sanders, answering questions from the media during the presser. The post also includes snippets from the coaching staff of the University's soccer, volleyball, and other sports.
"Almost that time..." the caption read.
Despite the hype surrounding the Sanders family's arrival in Boulder, the 4-8 disappointing campaign led to Coach Prime receiving a lot of criticism. However, he has used this offseason to revamp the coaching staff and bring in new talents to the roster ahead of the program's Big 12 journey.
Deion Sanders brought in several new coaches with NFL experience like Pat Shurmur and Warren Sapp, to further bolster the development of his players. Apart from this, another problem was providing Shedeur Sanders with better protection on the field.
Last season, Shedeur was the highest-sacked quarterback with 52 sacks to his name. The O-line of the Buffs failed to protect the Colorado QB properly on the field. So, Coach Prime used this offseason to revamp the O-line and bring in new talents from the transfer portal and recruiting.
Shedeur Sanders shares the best game advice he received from Coach Prime
During a recent episode of his podcast called '2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders', the Colorado QB came forward to talk about the best game advice his father gave him.
As per Shedeur, the advice from Coach Prime was to always focus on critically analyzing the game plan and strategies of your opponents so that you can focus on building an effective countermeasure on the field.
"That's what dad says. Sometimes you're seeing too much like, you play against all these different teams, very diverse in their coverages and all this stuff. So you gotta actually focus in on, 'Ok, what does this coach do. What is his specialty? What type of coach is he?'" Shedeur said.
"From there on Ok what are the variations and different things you could get to......So I feel like definitely trusting actually the game plan and like, really focusing on that and not really seeing too much." (12:55 onwards)
This will be Shedeur Sanders' final collegiate campaign before he declares for the 2025 NFL Draft. Will he be successful in helping the Buffs improve on their last season's record?
