Ryan Williams has taken the College Football world by storm. The 17-year-old wide receiver for the Alabama Crimson Tide has quickly adjusted to playing football at the highest level.
Williams played in the Crimson Tide's defeat to the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday. A couple of days after the defeat, an Instagram account shared a photo of Williams showcasing his orange-painted nails.
In the game against the Tennessee Volunteers, Williams recorded 73 receiving yards on eight catches, scoring one touchdown. This was not enough, as the Crimson Tide fell to the Volunteers 24-17.
While this performance wasn't his best, it wasn't his worst either. Overall, Williams will be hoping for a better outing this week against the Missouri Tigers.
Why does Ryan Williams paint his nails?
Ryan Williams' painted nails have been noticed numerous times during the season. At the beginning of the season, Williams shared the reason behind his painted nails with the media.
"My little sister, she just loves doing nails and I support her fully."
Williams is not the only player who is known for painting his nails.
Former USC Trojan and current Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams had been seen with painted nails on numerous occasions while with the Trojans.
This is something that he continues to this day, while he is starting his NFL career with the Bears.
What does the Missouri coach think of Ryan Williams
In the build-up to this weekend's game against the Missouri Tigers, Tigers coach Eli Drinkwitz praised Ryan Williams. Drinkwitz told the media:
"Special player, special talent, obviously. There's a competitive quality that he has that is special and I don't know that age is that big of a factor if you have those kind of gifts."
With or without painted nails, Williams is likely to be a player that the Tigers' defense will have to watch.
While his form has dipped from the beginning of the season, he is still a threat and could cause problems for the struggling Missouri.
