The 2024 Heisman Award has become a contest between two players, Colorado's Travis Hunter and Boise State's Ashton Jeanty. Hunter helped the Buffs secure a 9-3 campaign despite them failing to qualify for the Big 12 title game. On the other hand, Jeanty's offensive prowess has helped Boise State secure a spot in the Mountain West title game.

While fans are divided over which player should win the Heisman this season, a few stars from the NFL and NBA have showcased their support for Travis Hunter's Heisman campaign. When the Cleveland Browns took on the Denver Broncos on Monday night, CB Pat Surtain II and WR Courtland Sutton wore customized Heisman T-shirts with Hunter's picture on them during pregame.

On Tuesday, Denver Nuggets stars Peyton Watson and DeAndre Jordan similarly showcased their support for Hunter's Heisman campaign. They also wore customized shirts during practice before their game against the Golden State Warriors.

According to FanDuel, Hunter has the best odds to win the coveted award at -10000. This season, he became the only FBS player to have played more than 150 snaps on both sides of the ball. He has played 672 snaps on offense and 688 snaps on defense.

Apart from the Heisman, Travis Hunter is also a finalist for other awards including the Biletnikoff, Bednarik, Walter Camp, Paul Hornung and Maxwell awards.

Former Heisman winner showcases support for Travis Hunter

Former NFL safety Charles Woodson won the coveted award in 1997 during his stint with the Michigan Wolverines. Now, he has voiced his support for Travis Hunter as the undisputed winner of the Heisman.

On "The Rich Eisen Show" on Monday, Woodson talked about why the Colorado two-way star deserved to win the award.

"For me, there's a guy out there that played a lot like how I played," Woodson said. "In my opinion, he (Travis Hunter) is the best player in college football. What he did this year, it's already amazing enough that he's played so many plays every game ... but it's really the production of the play.
"He's not just out there playing in reps, touchdowns offensively, double-digit touchdowns, shut down receivers on the outside. Everytime you saw a ball thrown his way, he was breaking it up, intercepting it."

The finalists of this year's Heisman will be announced on Dec. 9, with the ceremony taking place on Dec. 14. It will be interesting to see if Hunter can emerge victorious in his final collegiate campaign before beginning his NFL journey next year.
