Colorado superfan Peggy Coppom, aka "Miss Peggy," finally got her preseason promise by coach Deion Sanders fulfilled after the Buffaloes became bowl-eligible. The Buffs defeated the Cincinnati Bearcats 34-23 at Folsom Field in Week 9 to clinch bowl-eligibility for the first time in eight years.

On Tuesday, there was more good news for the superfan as the famous Boulder restaurant "The Sink," which turned 100 years old last year, painted a mural of her and her sister, Betty, who died in 2020. Peggy, who turns 100 years old in three weeks, signed the mural and posed with the staff of the restaurant to celebrate the collaboration.

It's not the first time that the renowned Boulder restaurant has been involved in Colorado Buffaloes football matters after naming a burger "JuJu's Precision Pass Burger" in June to convince five-star quarterback Julian "JuJu" Lewis to commit to the program when he went on an official visit in June.

Colorado fights to get Miss Peggy's prime bowl game

Colorado coach Deion Sanders was not satisfied with the Buffs simply being bowl-eligible as he had promised Miss Peggy before the season started. During a locker room speech he gave after the Buffs beat the Cincinnati Bearcats, the charismatic coach challenged his team to continue winning games to give the Colorado superfan a prime bowl game.

“We still ain’t got Peggy straight,” Deion Sanders said. “We gotta get Peggy straight. Now we don’t really just wanna get Peggy to a bowl. Peggy got great taste. She’s sophisticated. She’s a lady, so we want to make sure we get her to a nice bowl, not just any bowl … We want to win."

A clip of "Coach Prime" calling the Buffs superfan in front of the Colorado team in the locker room after the game against Cincinnati went viral. Coppom was not present at Folsom Field to witness the Buffs clinching bowl-eligibility for the first time in eight years due to a bout of COVID-19.

During the call, she broke down when the news of her beloved team's bowl-eligibility was broken to her.

"I'm so happy thank you so much for the turnaround you have done for us. Thank you for that," Miss Peggy said in the call with Coach Prime.

The Colorado Buffaloes look geared up for a charge in the last four games of a season that looks promising after clinching bowl-eligibility, and Miss Peggy is getting her wish and maybe more.
