Dillon Gabriel was due a breakout game for his new team after joining the Oregon Ducks from the Oklahoma Sooners via the transfer portal. The Ducks quarterback finally got his impact game when he went 23-of-34 for 341 yards resulting in two touchdowns against the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes in a 32-31 win.

Off the gridiron, Gabriel's fiancee Zoe Caswell was hyped up for the crucial game. She posted a snap of her breakfast on her Instagram stories.

Why Dillon Gabriel and Zoe Caswell left Oklahoma

Dillon Gabriel and his girlfriend Zoe Caswell have been in a relationship since the quarterback's time in Oklahoma. When Gabriel entered the transfer portal, Caswell followed him to Eugene when he opted to play for the Oregon Ducks.

Caswell quickly settled in Eugene even attending Oregon college basketball games before the football season began and she showcased her exploration of the new neighborhood on Instagram.

There was speculation that Dillon Gabriel entered the transfer portal due to the emergence of backup quarterback Jackson Arnold, who has struggled this season. During his weekly news conference, Oklahoma Sooners coach Brent Venables revealed why Gabriel left Oklahoma.

"You can't make a guy stay," Venables said. "The guy is trying to find the next thing; the next chapter for him. I'm sure there was probably some disappointment that [Gabriel] wasn't more highly thought of in the NFL. He had an amazing year. He was a fantastic quarterback. But we didn't run anybody off or things like that."

Venables revealed that Gabriel informed him during a meeting that he was leaving because offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby left to take the head coach position at Mississippi State and he wanted to play closer to home in Hawaii.

"I did not know at that time that he (Gabriel) wasn't going to go to the NFL. ... I didn't even know I had to fight this fight," Venables said. "I didn't even realize that you were even considering coming back. And he says, 'Yeah, but I just want to get closer to home'. We hugged and shook hands. He was a little emotional and I was. It was all really good and positive."

Ever since Zoe Caswell and Dillon Gabriel arrived in Eugene, they have both spoken of how well they've settled in the area and in September, Gabriel proposed to Caswell who accepted.

The move by Dillon Gabriel to Eugene with his fiancee Zoe Caswell seems to be working out well for the quarterback, with their engagement and the college football world's conversation about him as a favorite for the Heisman Trophy.
