Pics: Buffs drop glimpses of Colorado superfan Miss Peggy's grand 100th birthday bash from Week 12 game

Last weekend, the Colorado Buffaloes hosted the Utah Utes in a rivalry game, which the Buffaloes won. They are now on eight wins for the season and in contention for the Big 12 Championship Game.

But, this game had added significance for the Buffaloes, as they were celebrating the 100th birthday of their superfan, Miss Peggy.

On Tuesday, the Buffaloes' official Instagram account posted pictures from Miss Peggy's birthday.

Miss Peggy has been attending Buffaloes' games since the 1940s. She is friends with the Buffaloes coach, Deion Sanders.

This has only made her more visible and known to Buffaloes fans. They were happy to serenade the centurion with a rendition of "Happy Birthday," a gift only a few get.

However, these were not the only gifts Miss Peggy received from Colorado this season.

Earlier this year, Deion Sanders promised the superfan he would bring the Buffaloes to a bowl game this season in her honor. A few weeks ago, the Buffaloes became bowl-eligible, fulfilling the promise.

In the build-up to this birthday celebration, Deion Sanders spoke about how Miss Peggy is motivating the Buffaloes players and team.

"Miss Peggy, in her own tremendous, loving way, she gives all of us hope,” he said. “She gives all of us that unspeakable joy. That love. That respect. You know how many decades we are apart but we still found one another? I thank God for that. Just the little things she whispers. That’s the remembrance of certain little things that she may say. Her asking me about my mother.

Because Peggy is just, she is like that, man. She gives me so much energy every darn time I see her. You guys thought I was joking. I was really dedicated to getting Peggy to a bowl game. Now we’re trying to get Peggy to THE game. It was a bowl game. Now it’s THE game.”

Sanders' words make it clear that the two parties involved care for each other on a personal level.

But for Sanders, with his promise of a bowl game now achieved, he wants to go one step further and get Miss Peggy to "THE Game."

It likely refers to the national championship game (or potentially the Big 12 Championship Game). Colorado is eyeing both games this season.
