USC (5-5, 3-5 Big Ten) will be up against crosstown rival UCLA (4-6, 3-5 Big Ten) on Saturday. It's the first meeting in the rivalry series as a member of the Big Ten, and the game comes with huge implications for both teams as they seek bowl game eligibility.
On Tuesday, the Trojans announced they will debut a Nike Kobe 6 "USC" football cleat. Inspired by the pair Kobe Bryant showcased with the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day in 2010, these cleats have been uniquely tailored for the Trojans.
Kobe Bryant, who died tragically in a helicopter crash in 2020, remains a prominent figure at the university, embodying the spirit of Los Angeles. The Lakers icon is a great representation of the city’s vibrant culture and sporting legacy.
The Trojans' basketball program is one of just seven NCAA teams recognized as "Mamba Programs," a title honoring Kobe Bryant's enduring legacy and his profound influence on the sport.

USC and UCLA in the race for bowl game eligibility
USC and UCLA haven’t had a bright start to life in the Big Ten. The crosstown rivals moved to the conference from the Pac-12 this season and have struggled significantly.
While the Trojans and the Bruins will be looking to have a better outing in 2025, the best they can get out of the ongoing season is a bowl game qualification. The two will have this at the back of their mind on Saturday when they square up at the iconic Rose Bowl.
USC needs to secure a win in one of the final regular season games to secure bowl eligibility. Following the UCLA rivalry encounter on Saturday, the Trojans are scheduled to come up against No. 6 Notre Dame (9-1) at home in Week 14.
UCLA has a much different route to bowl eligibility. The Bruins will need to win the remaining two games in the regular season. Following the game against the Trojans, DeShaun Foster's team will welcome Fresno State to Los Angeles.
USC hasn't won a road game this season, boasting a 0-4 record. However, The Trojans have secured bowl appearances in each of the last two seasons under Lincoln Riley.
