The Purdue Boilermakers are not known for their football program. Like most schools in the state of Indiana, they are primarily a basketball school, and their basketball program is among the best in the country.

However, Purdue fans do not seem to view this as a problem, as the school announced on Tuesday that it had sold 42,000 season tickets for Ross-Ade Stadium, which seats 61,441. There are no single-game tickets left for the Notre Dame game, which is sold out.

Here is how college football fans reacted to the news on social media.

"They are povery fanbase," one fan said.
"Not much to do on the Purdue campus," another fan said.

These fans were happy to hear that Purdue sold all of their season tickets.

"I love that we are a 4-5 win team and still selling out!" one fan said.

"LFG 🚂💨🏈" another fan said.
"LET’S GO!" one fan said.

The news of selling out season tickets has given some fans big ideas about the future of their stadium.

"Does this mean we can finally build the east side upper deck and expand RA capacity????" one fan said.

Why Purdue has sold out of season tickets

The Purdue Boilermakers experienced a minor resurgence under former coach Jeff Brohm. In the six seasons that he was in charge of the Boilermakers, they reached four bowl games, winning two of them.

However, near the end of the 2022 season, Brohm left the program to become the new coach of the Louisville Cardinals.

The Boilermakers replaced Brohm with Ryan Walters, who led the team to a 4-8 record in the 2023 season.

Despite this Purdue fans are still turning up to games. One reason for the demand for season tickets may be due to the exciting schedule for this year.

Purdue will have home games against state rival Notre Dame on Sept. 14 and the Oregon Ducks on Oct.18.

However, Purdue is not expected to challenge for the Big Ten championship this year, and many analysts have said that it might be the weakest team in the conference.
