Kalen DeBoer led Alabama to a crucial win on Saturday against LSU in Baton Rouge. The Crimson Tide were dominant at the Tiger Stadium, defeating Brian Kelly’s team 42-13, ending their 15-game undefeated run at home under the light.

The rivalry game in Week 11 had high stakes with the postseason implications around it. The win was a relief for DeBoer who has been under criticism in recent weeks. The coach referred to the weekend game as one of the best of his short tenure in Tuscaloosa.

“I felt like that was probably the most complete game we’ve played,” DeBoer said. “We’ve done that the past two games to some extent against Missouri and then again tonight.”
“Coming into a tough environment, just play after play, just staying the course. And then coming out in the third quarter, getting an interception and then just going back down the field, playing good complimentary team football."

The win keeps Alabama’s College Football Playoff hopes alive after suffering defeat against Vanderbilt and Tennessee. The Crimson Tide were ranked 11th in the inaugural CFP ranking and are expected to climb up in the next release during the week.

Kalen DeBoer on Jalen Milroe’s performance

Jalen Milroe's performance was crucial to Alabama's dominant win over LSU. The quarterback completed 12-of-18 passes for 109 yards and led the game in rushing with a career-high 185 yards and four touchdowns.

In his postgame press conference on Saturday, Kalen DeBoer reacted to Milroe's outstanding performance in Baton Rouge.

"I think there’s a lot of other guys that helped him get to those spots where we were ahead in the chains,” DeBoer said. A lot of smaller gains that get you into positions where your whole playbook is available to you.
“And obviously, he’s got a superpower when it comes to running the football. You can see him not just be a guy that gets first downs but finishes in the end zone. So him doing what he did early on just really got the ball rolling there and made throws that were timely when needed.”

Milroe has thrown for 2,046 yards and 13 touchdowns this season. The quarterback has also rushed for 565 yards and 16 touchdowns, showcasing his dual-threat prowess on the field. This has been largely crucial to Kalen DeBoer's performance in his first season in charge at Alabama.
