Running back Ashton Jeanty and the No. 9-ranked Boise State Broncos lost their second-round College Football Playoff matchup 31-14 against the No. 4-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions on New Year's Eve. It was a disappointing end to a strong season for both the Broncos and Jeanty.

Coach Prime, who is at the helm of the No. 23-ranked Colorado Buffaloes, is often supportive of players on social media. In the aftermath of the game on Wednesday morning, Deion Sanders made a post in support of Jeanty. He wrote on X:

"Proud of you young man. Your future is as bright as it gets. Keep God 1st which I know u will. Dismiss the fools that are negative on every day that ends with a 'Y'. You are HIM my man. Got has u covered. Ashton Jeanty."

Although it is not surprising to see Coach Prime offer support to a player, it is notable that he chose to do so for Ashton Jeanty. Jeanty was the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy, which he lost to two-way star Travis Hunter, who played for Coach Prime. Although there was no public beef between the two players, it was still a contentious debate over who should win the award.

When will Ashton Jeanty be drafted?

Ashton Jeanty will enter the 2025 NFL draft and is projected to be the first running back taken. However, RBs have become less prioritized than other skill positions, which could cause Jeanty to fall in the draft slightly. Teams with high picks that are in need of a quarterback, like the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants and Cleveland Browns, are unlikely to select Jeanty.

Jeanty is expected to be drafted in the top 15, and possibly the top 10, depending on where teams end up selecting. One team expected to have interest in Jeanty is the Dallas Cowboys. The team already has a star quarterback in Dak Prescott and could use a star running back to pair with him.

Ahead of the final week of the NFL regular season, the Cowboys hold the 13th pick in the draft. Depending on the results of the final games, their selection could fall anywhere between 11th to 17th.
