Nick Saban has found success even after stepping down from coaching for the Alabama Crimson Tide on Jan. 10 after spending 17 years with the program. Since his retirement, several former players have shared their stories of playing under Saban.
Earlier this year, former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy recollected a funny moment during practice where Saban pulled his pants down.
ESPN College Football's YouTube channel uploaded a short video on Jan. 12 from "Always College Football with Greg McElroy," in which the former quarterback remembered a 2007 practice. He said that the team was doing Saban's fourth-quarter program conditioning training with long shorts that made moving difficult.

"Another great memory that I have of coach Saban that kind of brings to light how funny he is," McElroy said. "This was in 2007. We were going through the first rendition of the fourth-quarter program. Our workout shorts were big, and they were long, and they were heavy. The first fourth-quarter program was so grueling that we were all completely drenched in sweat."
McElroy remembered Saban speaking with the strength and conditioning and equipment coaches to get shorts that fit everyone so that they didn't fall off them. He recollected the story by imitating Saban's voice.
"We've got to get these some shorts that fit because I don't like right now when I see guys running their sprints and they're running around and their pants are down," McElroy said, mimicking Saban.
"And he literally pulls his pants down and imitates us running. Now, little did coach know it was not for style. It was not to be cool. It was because our pants were so heavy from the sweat that they were falling down as we were running our sprints and our curves and our plyometrics," he added.
McElroy noted that the team laughed at Saban mooning them during practice.
Nick Saban's new commercial for College GameDay
Nick Saban is no longer coaching but has embraced his new role as a panelist for "College GameDay." He gives his thoughts on weekly matchups and shares the fun personality his former players know him for. His latest commercial for the show recently showed fans another comedic side to him.
In the Home Depot commercial for "College GameDay," Saban dressed up to paint a bus for his co-hosts. He didn't get many lines but shared his sense of humor with his facial expressions. The ad was another example of Saban showing how entertaining he can be in his post-coaching career.
