Following his senior season at Texas, Quinn Ewers is expected to declare for the 2025 NFL draft. The quarterback has held the starting role for the Longhorns over the last three seasons, and the expectation is that Arch Manning will take over.

However, Ewers hasn't been as impressive as many expected this season. The quarterback started the season strong but regressed as it progressed. As a result, his draft stock has fallen significantly, and he no longer ranks among the top quarterbacks.

In light of this, there's a good chance Ewers will play one more season in college football, and Michigan State is hoping to capitalize on that. According to On3’s Brody Sheetz, the Spartans are willing to offer a deal worth over $4 million to have the quarterback transfer to East Lansing.

Why playing for one more year makes sense for Quinn Ewers

The reported offer from Michigan State to Quinn Ewers is substantial and could convince him to stay in college football for one more season. The amount is close to what he would earn in his rookie contract in the NFL, especially if he falls out of the first round, as many draft experts currently project.

The uncertainty surrounding Ewers' future has sparked significant portal rumors. Reports suggest that many NFL scouts view an additional year in college as a crucial opportunity for him to refine his skills and further prepare for the challenges of the NFL.

While it's unknown what his decision will be, many fans are watching closely to see where he will play in 2025. Ewers will be hoping to convince scouts and NFL teams of his talent with his performance in the College Football Playoff later this month.

Should Ewers decide to return to college football for one more season, it likely won't be at Texas. It is expected that Manning will take over the starting role in Austin next season after spending two years as a backup.

This makes hitting the transfer portal a viable option for Quinn Ewers ahead of 2025. Michigan State is believed to be not the only team vying for him, but it has offered the most money so far.
