Quinn Ewers honors his mom as the 'most influential' person in his life: "I'd be a fool not to trust what she's telling me"

The Texas Longhorns QB, Quinn Ewers, appeared on the "RG3 and The Ones" podcast, hosted by former NFL QB Robert Griffin III. There, Ewers discussed the upcoming season, joining the SEC, and his latest cover spread on the EA Sports' College Football 25 video game.

Griffin III asked Ewers about his spiritual journey and the person who influences him the most.

"My mom, I mean, she's I think she's living proof of what it's supposed to be like I mean just everything that she's done and everything that she's shown me about her relationship with God and Jesus I don't think there's a person closer to Jesus than her so just seeing seeing what it's done for her life," Ewers said. "It's just I mean I I'd be I'd be a fool not to trust what she's telling me and everything that he's done for her life no that's awesome," he added. (35:57)

Quinn Ewers also said that he views his parents as role models and looks up to them as his heroes.

Quinn Ewers discussed Arch Manning's position on the Longhorns squad

As the Texas Longhorns join the Southeastern Conference this year, the team is excited for a new chapter of college football.

Quinn Ewers is back on the squad with hopes of leading the team to a national championship, while Arch Manning, the freshman shot caller, will continue to learn more about the position as a backup.

While talking to Robert Griffin III about Manning, Ewers said:

"Not being from the state and coming in, it's obviously a little different. I think he's got more time to grow his pride and love for the university. ... Being able to sit back and watch, it's different than playing. So him seeing kinda what's going on from inside but also outside, he can gain a lot of intel from that." (17:01)

"And then, obviously, another year to learn the offense and just get more comfortable within the smaller details. It's like the best situation for him, I think," he added.

Although there was some noise around Manning hitting the transfer portal, the rumors were quashed when he started during the Longhorns' spring game.

Fans can expect to see Ewers suit up for the starting position once again and if the season goes well for the Steve Sarkisian-led squad, they can also expect him to go in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft.
