Quinn Ewers is headed to the NFL Draft, and what that means very much depends on who is in the conversation. Some regard Ewers as a legitimate third QB prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. Nobody else is likely to join the group of Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward. But optimists like Ewers's potential and skills and think he's the No. 3 guy.

Pessimists are more inclined to say, as some within Texas media already have, that Ewers has absolutely no business declaring for the draft. Good college player? Certainly. Nice young man who helped advance Texas's program? Absolutely. Pro QB? Uh, that's more dicey.

In three seasons with the Longhorns, Ewers threw for 9,128 yards and 64 touchdowns. He also saw his QB rating decline between his junior and senior seasons and caused some to wonder if Arch Manning wouldn't have been better.

His most famous play will be the one in which his former Ohio State roommate, Jack Sawyer, stripped a fourth down fumble from his arms to seal a CFP title spot.

Here's a look at a couple of potential NFL Draft landing spots for Ewers.

1. LA Rams

The Rams are led by Matt Stafford, who at 36 years old, is probably nearing the end of his time as a serviceable NFL starter. But Stafford also isn't an absolute train wreck of a QB, so he would give Ewers a bit of time to learn and grow at the NFL level before a team is dumped in his lap.

The question is whether the Rams would stretch to take Ewers at the 23rd pick or wait and see if they could nab him with their next pick, the 85th pick, which is in the third round?

The first seems a bit of a stretch, but the last seems like a bit of a gamble. The Rams would likely love to add offensive tackle help in the first round, so it may come down to whether LA will trade up or can get Ewers in Round 3.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers

This one comes down to a simple question. How married are the Steelers to Justin Fields? Recent developments around the team suggest that the answer is perhaps less than completely. If that's the case, Ewers could be a good option.

One of the issues with Fields is that as a mobile QB, he's likely to be eternally injury prone. Most of the NFL's most productive long-term QBs have been pocket passers, which certainly fits more within Ewers' range than Fields'. If Ewers' stock jumps, the Steelers could take him at pick 22 and if not, pick 54 in Round 2 could be plausible.

3. Tennessee Titans

What do you give the team that needs everything? Basically anything. Conventional wisdom recently has held that the Titans will select Cam Ward with the first pick in the draft. If Tennessee's issues were limited to QB play, that might be wise. As it is, the Titans might elect to trade down.

Tennessee would benefit more from another three or four top-three round players than the top pick. Does that mean they'll let go of Ward? If they do, don't be surprised if Ewers becomes part of their plan.

Use those top picks on offensive line or defensive playmaker help, and grab Ewers when you can. It's a plan that could work, even if it's far from certain that Tennessee would pursue it.
