Quinn Ewers is reportedly undecided on whether he'll remain with the No. 5 Texas Longhorns next year. The Longhorns starting quarterback is finishing up his junior year with the team. Texas Rivals' Anwar Richardson reported on Dec. 13 Ewers will declare for the 2025 NFL draft. However, the team leader said Monday he has yet to decide on his football future.

"I'm not sure yet. I'm just trying to win games," Ewers said.

On Saturday, Texas (11-2, 7-1 SEC) will face the No. 12 Clemson Tigers (10-3, 7-1 ACC) in the first round of the College Football Playoff. The matchup will occur at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas. Ewers was asked if Saturday would be his final home game for the Longhorns.

"Maybe. We'll see," Ewers said.

College football fans are curious about his decision, as Arch Manning remains on the Longhorns bench. Ewers declaring for the 2025 NFL draft would allow the Manning to take the starting role next season.

Texas is looking to regroup after suffering a 22-19 overtime loss to the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs (11-2, 6-2 SEC) in the SEC Championship on Dec. 7.

"Not build up too much in my head": Ewers trying to stay composed ahead of CFP game

Ewers was asked how he is preparing for the upcoming playoff game against Clemson. The quarterback said he's trying to stay composed and not let the pressure get to him.

"Just like any other game. Just try to not build it up too much in my head and just try to go out there and play my game," Ewers said.

Ewers was also asked if his mental preparation for Saturday's game differed from others.

"Yeah, I mean, maybe not right now, but as it gets closer, maybe so, but like you said, there's never been a home-hosted playoff game so that will be cool for sure," Ewers said.

Texas will try to defeat Clemson and advance to play No. 4 Arizona State Sun Devils (11-2, 7-2 Big 12) in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Jan. 1, 2025.
