Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers led the Longhorns past the Arizona State Sun Devils in double overtime of the Peach Bowl to set up a clash against the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Cotton Bowl on Friday. The game will pit Ewers against Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard for a chance to lead their teams to the national championship game.

Ewers tallied 322 yards resulting in two touchdowns and one interception while adding one score on the ground in the Peach Bowl and during a Monday interview with "4th and 13," the Longhorns QB shared that he was focused on the clash against his former team rather than on past heroics.

"It's definitely up there for sure, Ewers said. "I don't even think I watched it on film to be honest with you. We're just straight to Ohio State."

Quinn Ewers tabbed to stay in college football next year

On Friday, sports analyst Rich Eisen said that NFL evaluators had advised Quinn Ewers to remain in college football for an extra season rather than declare for the 2025 NFL draft.

"Playing out behind the scenes is the NFL draft," Eisen said (5:25), via the 'Rich Eisen Show.' "And playing out behind those scenes is a conversation I'm hearing is that a lot of NFL evaluators are telling Quinn Ewers, stay in college. And as we all know, if he stays in college for another year, it's not gonna be at Texas 'cause that's Arch Manning's gig next year and that's all playing out behind the scenes.
"Anytime Arch Manning does come on the field for that coach, for that quarterback, because Quinn Ewers behind these scenes, not on the field is hearing from a bunch of people saying 'Stay in college and go and make a killing in the transfer portal for one more year.'"

On the same show, The Athletic draft expert Bruce Feldman shared that he expects Ewers to enter the transfer portal leaning to the On3 report that revealed that the Texas QB has a $6 million offer from an unnamed school.

"My guess is he will be in the portal," Feldman said (6:17). "He's in a similar situation to Cam Ward and some other guys where the NFL doesn't look at him as a top 50 pick. They look at him as maybe third, fourth-round quarterback.
"The concerns you hear from scouts and definitely SEC coaches who respect him and think he has good arm talent and think he's a really good college football quarterback is when he has to ad-lib and improvise is when the mistakes really happen."

The Cotton Bowl Classic against the Ohio State Buckeyes will offer Ewers a chance to show his talent ahead of one of the biggest decisions in his career.
