On Saturday, a tragic event hit the world of sports, especially college football. Former cornerback for the Oregon Ducks, Khyree Jackson died in a car accident in Maryland, aged 24.
Jackson had a college football career that took him to the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Oregon Ducks, two of the sport's biggest programs. In this, he played with many players, some of whom are currently the best in college.
One of these is Isaiah Bond, who Jackson was on the same roster with during their time at Alabama. In response to the news of Jackson's death, he posted a tribute on social media.

Khyree Jackson and Isaiah Bond played on the 2022 Alabama Crimson Tide team together. Jackson was a defensive back, while Bond had his freshman season in the wide receiver position.
During this season, both players had some success on the field. Jackson played nine games, where he recorded seven tackles, while Bond recorded 220 yards from 17 receptions that year and scored one touchdown.
However, the two players' time together at Alabama would not last long. Khyree Jackson was suspended by head coach Nick Saban for the rest of the 2022 season and soon entered the transfer portal.
He would then find his way to Dan Lanning's Oregon Ducks, where he improved on his previous form, and found his way into the NFL. He was picked in the fourth round of the NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
However, Jackson would not be the only player in this pair to depart from the Crimson Tide. After the 2023 season, Isaiah Bond entered the transfer portal and will now be playing against his former program with the Texas Longhorns.
What happened in Maryland to cause Khyree Jackson's unfortunate death?
The car accident that killed Khyree Jackson involved three cars and occurred in Maryland during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Unfortunately, Jackson was not the only college football player to lose his life in the crash. Charlotte 49ers defensive back Isaiah Hazel and former Florida State Seminoles cornerback AJ Lytton would also tragically lose their life.
According to reports, Jackson was in the front passenger seat of a maroon Dodge Charger, which also had Hazel and Lytton in it. The car collided with a silver Infiniti car that was reportedly traveling at a "high rate of speed."
This collision forced the Dodge off the road, hitting multiple tree stumps in the process.
The incident would tragically cut the lives of three talented football players short, and they will always be remembered by fans.
