Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Ryan Williams has been living a charmed life since the season started after making himself indispensable to coach Kalen DeBoer. Last week, he headlined the Crimson Tide's epic 41-34 win against Georgia with his spectacular touchdown on a 75-yard pass from Jalen Milroe.

During Week 6 of college football action, the No. 1 Crimson Tide were beaten 40-35 on the road by the Vanderbilt Commodores for the season's biggest upset in a weekend full of them.

On Friday, before the game against the Commodores, Williams posted a clip on TikTok of himself and his teammates dancing, mimicking a postgame win celebration. It was captioned:

"Tmrw (tomorrow)."

Despite the stunning loss and the clip backfiring, Ryan Williams continued his hot streak of form, registering 82 yards on three receptions and one touchdown. He scored his TD with 2:46 remaining on the clock to haul the Crimson Tide back into contention.

After William's touchdown, Bama coach Kalen DeBoer, who got his first SEC reality check, explained why his team did not go for an onside kick.

"Understanding everything with the timeouts and the two-minute warning and all that just really felt like we were going to be in a good spot," DeBoer said.
"Even if they got one first down, depending on when that was, we would still be able to have a good amount of time to be on the field. I don’t think it was a matter of us being able to find guys and execute and get the ball down and score offensively. It was just a matter of getting the ball back."

The Ryan Williams vs. Jeremiah Smith battle rages on

While 17-year-old Ryan Williams has become the poster boy of college football freshmen this season, he has been run pretty close by 18-year-old Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, who has also impressed with his performances.

In the Buckeyes' Week 6, 35-7 win against the Iowa Hawkeyes, Smith hauled in a one-handed catch that left college football fans in awe. This season, he has registered 453 yards on 23 receptions for six touchdowns.

Ryan Williams has registered 544 yards on 19 receptions for six touchdowns to keep the debate between himself and Jeremiah Smith alive.
