The Michigan Wolverines face the Texas Longhorns in Week 2 of the 2024 College Football season. This is the marquee matchup of the week and a must-see for CFB fans.
This is the first time that these two teams have met in the regular season and the "Big House" has been filled with fans of both the Wolverines and the Longhorns.

Derek Jeter is a New York Yankees legend and one of the greatest baseball players of all time. Jeter grew up in the state of Michigan and received a scholarship to play baseball for the Wolverines, which he did not accept.
Tim Hardaway Jr.
Hardaway will play for the Detroit Pistons in the 2024-25 NBA season and played college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines. While with the Wolverines, he led the team to the 2013 national championship game but lost to the Louisville Cardinals.
Scottie Pippen
Pippen won six NBA Championships during his 17 seasons in the NBA. He was a key part of the Chicago Bulls teams of the 1990s, which were incredibly dominant. He has no direct connection to the Michigan Wolverines — but his son does. Justin Pippen is currently playing college basketball for the Wolverines.
Michael Phelps
Michael Phelps is the most decorated Olympian of all time. The swimmer won 28 medals including 23 golds. He is associated with the Michigan Wolverines as his trainer was hired by the program. He was also the celebrity guest picker for "College GameDay."
Matthew McConaughey
McConaughey is one of the Longhorns' biggest fans. He attended the University of Texas, earned his film degree, and has given pregame speeches to the Longhorns. It was highly likely that he would attend a game as big as this.
