The college football season is in full swing as the calendar approaches the halfway mark with teams entering Week 7. The SEC has been playing great football over the first six weeks of the season, as the 16 teams have a combined 58-26 record, including an impressive 40-8 mark in non-conference games.

There are nine SEC teams ranked in the latest rendition of the AP Top 25 Poll, with five of them in the top nine in the nation. Three additional programs were among the others receiving votes, meaning that 12 of the conference's 16 teams received some recognition from voters.

The No. 1-ranked Texas Longhorns lead the way after moving up in the rankings despite having a Week 6 bye. After defeating the Georgia Bulldogs in an early candidate for Game of the Year in Week 5, the No. 7-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide suffered a rough upset loss that moved them out of the top spot.

Of the SEC's 16 teams, 10 faced a conference opponent, with five others having a bye week. The expanded postseason field of 12 teams will likely lead to several teams from the conference reaching the College Football Playoff. Take a look at the SEC's power rankings after Week 6 below.
