The Cleveland Browns will have a good chance of selecting Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL draft as the franchise holds the No. 2 pick. Whether the franchise would be interested in him is up for debate, as the team invested heavily in making Deshaun Watson the quarterback of their future - a gamble that hasn't paid off so far.
Nick Karns, co-host of "The Barking Browns," believes that Sanders could be the answer to the Browns' troubles.
However, if they're to join the quarterback market this year, some fans don't think that Sanders should be their target. One fan raised a thought regarding the Buffs signal-caller:
"We sure he is as successful without Travis Hunter?"
Some fans disagreed with Karns:
"Nick - if this is the criteria then maybe we can get Bronny James out here. Because he’s been living in LeBron shadow and handling that too. Super Bowl super Browns yeah"
"Hard pass… if anything, he had significantly less pressure by playing with his father. There were more factors that contributed to the success Colorado had. Portal, Deion’s recruiting, bad conference, etc. I don’t see him succeeding in the NFL"
"You couldn’t be farther off the mark."
Some New York Giants fans don't believe Shedeur Sanders is all he is made up to be:
"As a Giants fan I hope the Browns take him so the Giants don't have to. He is not worth a top 5 pick in my opinion based on what scouts are saying. Maybe if the Browns get out of Watsons contract they can trade their pick to the Cowboys for DAK and more picks."
Others believe the Cleveland Browns would destroy his career:
"The Browns ownership would destroy Sanders' career…. Myles Garrett, Denzel, Chubb even Joe Thomas are prime examples. No caring father would want their son on a Haslam team….sad to say but true"
Shedeur Sanders benefited from having a Heisman-winning and Biletnikoff-winning wide receiver as his favorite target at Colorado. The chemistry between the two is undeniable. However, it is important to point out that Sanders also successfully paired with other receivers like Will Sheppard and Jimmy Horn Jr. at Colorado.
Shedeur Sanders' reaction to the Tennessee Titans getting the first overall pick of the NFL Draft
On Sunday's episode of his "2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders" show, the Colorado quarterback spoke about his feelings on Tennessee getting the first overall pick of the draft. Previously, the pick was owned by the New York Giants.
When asked by his brother, Deion Sanders Jr., how he felt about the change, here's what he said:
"I love it ... But honestly, bro, I've been doing a lot of thinking, bro. What's meant to happen is going to happen. You know, I don't feel God would ever put me in a place, you know, I'm not supposed to go. We made it everywhere. You know we have win and been successful ... Bro, I'm not paying attention to people." [00:20]
However, he might still end up with the Giants. Shedeur Sanders is no longer the favorite to be the first overall pick of the draft, as he has been surpassed by Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward. At the moment, Ward has odds of -125 to be the first pick of the 2025 NFL draft according to Fox Sports.
