During a recent episode of 'NFL on ESPN,' former World Bowl champion Louis Riddick praised Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders for his impressive skills. Riddick cautioned viewers not to be distracted by Sanders' flashy image or NIL deals since he is an emerging football star.
“He's much more mature than his age would suggest,” Riddick said. “Do not get it twisted. Do not get jaded by the fact that the flash, the symbols, when he puts the watch up and all the, in the cars and the NIL deals and who his dad is.
“This kid's a baller. And if he has some help, he's going to light college football on fire,” he added.

Last season, Sanders made headlines by flashing his luxury wristwatch against the Arizona State student section after a 27-24 victory over the Sun Devils.
Despite setting CU records for passing yards in a game (510) and a season (3,230), the Buffs quarterback faced significant injuries and was sacked 52 times.
Despite all these shortcomings, analyst Matt Miller ranks Sanders as a top QB prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, following a season with a 69% completion rate, 27 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions.
Shedeur Sanders set to lead Colorado Buffaloes in 2024

Shedeur Sanders is ready to suit up and lead Colorado after sitting out in the finale with a back fracture. He underwent a successful surgery.
“As soon as I took a step to jog or run, it’s just like the back pain hurt extremely,” Sanders said, according to Buff Zone. “It was something I never experienced before and it was something, like, when you really want to do something but you can’t,” he added.
Buffs senior QB said that December was crucial for resting and healing, and it took a while to regain full strength. Sanders now feels completely normal.
“The weight room program that I’m doing right now and all that slowly built me up to where I am now to where I feel 100% again,” he said. “So, I know I could go out there very confident to do anything, make any throw, make any run. I just feel great now.”
Last year, the Buffs had the worst run game in the country, averaging 68.9 yards per contest. Shedeur will be hoping to improve on these aspects and bounce back this season.
