Deion Sanders QB son Shedeur Sanders was eligible for the 2024 NFL draft. However, the young QB decided to forgo the draft to play one more season for his father with the Colorado Buffaloes. Despite the Buffs finishing with a 4-8 record, Shedeur showcased his talents on the field, putting up 3,230 passing yards and 27 touchdown passes.

As per ESPN's draft analyst Matt Miller, Shedeur Sanders is one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2025 NFL draft. During a recent episode of 'NFL on ESPN', Miller put the Colorado QB as the No. 2 overall prospect in his list.

He then went on to heap praise on Coach Prime's son for adjusting to the Boulder atmosphere and also complimented Shedeur's throwing accuracy. Miller went on to talk about how people expect Shedeur Sanders to be a player with pace just like his father, but that's not the case as he has his own specialized ability, which is his pin-point passing.

"Man, the jump last year from Jackson State, a lower level of competiton, to Colorado. You expected some bumps, some acclimation. There was none of that. He came out just throwing missiles from Day 1. It's the surgical accuracy of Shedeur Sanders." (2:55)
"And a lot of folks hear that name, we know he's Deion's son. You think, 'Oh he's going to be this prolific runner. He's going to be this huge-armed quarterback. That's not his game." he added. " He is 6'2'' 215 Ibs, he carves you up with accuracy, with timing and he trusts that accuracy to make throws that a lot of college quarterbacks just aren't going to attempt."

In his first game for the Buffs last season, Shedeur set a single-game program record by tallying 510 passing yards and 4 passing TDs against the TCU Horned Frogs. However, on the other end of the spectrum, his offensive line failed to protect him on the field, also making him the most sacked QB of the season.

Shedeur Sanders shares reason behind his decision to not delcare for the 2024 NFL draft

This year's draft class was filled with a lot of talents at the quarterback department. 2022 Heisman winner Caleb Williams was the first pick of the draft for the Chicago Bears.

Ahead of the draft, Shedeur shared the factors that influenced his decision to not declare for the 2024 NFL draft. The young QB said that he wants to be the first QB pick of the draft and believes that he still has the potential to develop his game at the collegiate level before going pro.

"I'm trying to be the first quarterback off the board. I respect Caleb, I respect how he plays. He's a great player. But overall there's just different tiers of quarterbacks," Shedeur said.
"I understand this year wasn't my year. I didn't have enough time at this level cause there's a lot of things going through but I didn't have enough time. So I feel like I'm just excited to be back with the team and be able to have another year to do things over again and do it the right way."

The Buffs are set for a reunion with the Big 12 conference this year. With the new 12-team playoff format in play, it will be interesting to see if Shedeur Sanders can help the program compete for a playoff spot.
