Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders' attempt to reunite their parents, Deion Sanders and Pilar Sanders, on the Colorado Buffaloes' Senior Day fell flat. Coach Prime was spotted walking away as the boys greeted their mother at Folsom Field.
The two Buffaloes stars, who are departing for the NFL, hatched a plan to enter the field with Deion and meet Pilar in the middle. Deion, unaware of the plan, started walking with his boys by his side before stepping away at the last minute.
On Tuesday's episode of "2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders," the quarterback explained how he felt at the time.
"That was real fun walking on Senior Day. The funniest part was my dad and my mom seeing each other 25 yards away and just walking closer. Yeah, that was the funniest thing for me on Senior Day. That definitely gave me a good heckle," Shedeur said (5:20).
Shedeur Sanders' brother called the moment "World War III"
In a YouTube video titled "Home Game Finale A Special Day with the Fam at Colorado," Shilo Sanders discussed their plan of getting their parents to walk together.
He compared the task to a "World War III" situation.
"Alright, we’re going to try to do the impossible. My brother (Shedeur) just got my mom from the stands cause of the senior day, and we didn’t know we had to walk. They’re not gonna. That’s like World War III trying to get them to walk together."
Deion Sanders and Pilar got married in 1999, a year after Coach Prime parted ways with his former wife Carolyn Chambers. After 14 years, Pilar and Deion separated in 2013 with a public fallout that involved a custody battle for their children, Shedeur, Shilo and Shelomi.
Pilar accused Deion of beating one of his kids, alleging he wasn't fit to have custody. That led to Coach Prime filing a defamation lawsuit, which he eventually won, along with the custody of the kids.
