Shedeur Sanders has had a successful second season with the Colorado Buffaloes. So far, he has helped the team secure a 7-2 (5-1 Big 12 conference) campaign and qualify for the bowl games for the first time since 2020. Apart from this, the Buffs are also a top favorite to compete for the conference title and a spot in the 12-team playoffs.

Amid the success, Shedeur has also faced a lot of backlash, hate, and criticism. His recent guest, soccer legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic is someone who also traversed the same path during his athletic career. Thus, the Colorado quarterback looked up to Ibrahimovic and took inspiration from his life to overcome his struggles as a footballer.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic recently appeared on the '2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders' show alongside the Colorado QB and his brother Deion Sanders Jr. During their conversation, Shedeur talked about how he used to watch Ibrahimovic's interviews as his pre-game ritual to keep himself motivated and deal with the negative backlash that he receives.

"What was crazy was I read a lot of that about you and I started to watch a lot of your interviews before games just in general," Shedeur said. "Because you know it was just the way how you was and a lot people I would say put me in the same category also.
"They hate on me, they, you know, try to crucify me, do everything wrong. And all I'm trying to do is right. So that's whenever I'm like okay cool this is a guy that mastered this. They painted this picture of him but you know he probably wasn't even having that type of intent. But that's what they made him to be. So you basically just took advantage of that."

After the team's week 11 victory over Texas Tech, Shedeur Sanders recorded a total of 2,882 passing yards and 24 TD passes for the Buffs. He is looking forward to being the No.1 overall pick in the NFL draft next year, just like former USC QB Caleb Williams.

Shedeur Sanders' guest Zlatan reveals the sport he would play if he did not pursue soccer

On the podcast, Shedeur Sanders' older brother Deion Sanders Jr. questioned the soccer legend about which sport he would flourish in if he did not pursue soccer. Ibrahimovic replied by stating that he would have been successful in any sport with a ball in it.

"I think everything with a ball, I would be successful. 100 percent. The American football is a different game. But I think basketball, I would easily be one of the top, if not the one."

Standing at 6 foot 3 inches, Ibrahimovic might have been a force to be reckoned with in the NBA. However, the legend has already cemented his place as one of the greatest strikers in soccer before announcing his retirement last year.
