Shedeur Sanders Heisman odds: Colorado QB's chances to win the coveted honor after Utah win

This win has cemented his status as being one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL draft. But what has it done to his odds to win the Heisman Trophy?

Coming into this week, Shedeur Sanders had odds of +4000 to win the Heisman Trophy, according to Fox Sports.

Buffaloes teammate Travis Hunter came into this week as the overall favorite for the award, with Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel behind him in second.

After this week's action, Sanders odds have changed, going to +15000, according to Fanduel. He is still the seventh favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. It is looking like the award is not going to be won by a quarterback for the first time in 10 years.

Who does Shedeur Sanders want to win the Heisman Trophy?

While he may not be seen as a contender for the Heisman Trophy, Sanders has given his verdict on who he thinks should win the award.

After the win against Utah on Saturday, Sanders posted his opinion on social media.

"Travis Hunter proved he should win the Heisman."

Throughout the season, Hunter has been the target of choice for Sanders. He has a team-leading 911 receiving yards and has scored 10 touchdowns this season.

This is in addition to the strong defensive presence Hunter has. He is a huge reason why Colorado has been having succes this season. The win against Utah was the Buffaloes' eighth this year, the most wins they have had in a single campaign since the 2016 season.

It's not just Shedeur Sanders endorsing Hunter. Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders has also given his support for Hunter.

"Travis gets my vote. Travis is the best player in college football, truly. Shedeur is that guy, he’s the catalyst. He makes everything go and he enables Travis to be Travis, but Travis Hunter is doing something we’ve never seen before."
