Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders failed to make an impact during his team's disastrous loss in the Alamo Bowl game. This season was his final collegiate campaign with the Buffs as the quarterback will be making his transition into the NFL next year.

After a disappointing 4-8 debut last season, Shedeur Sanders helped the Buffs secure a 9-3 campaign at the end of the regular season this year. This helped the program qualify for the Bowl games where they played the BYU Cougars in the Valero Alamo Bowl.

Unfortunately, the Buffs could not end the season with a bowl game victory. The BYU Cougars dominated right from the start of the game and went on to secure a 36-14 victory. Shedeur Sanders had a lackluster performance on the field, failing to make scoring chances for his team.

Coach Prime's son is projected to be the first overall pick in the draft next year. With the New York Giants having the first pick, fans took to social media to cast doubts about the team drafting Shedeur.

One fan compared him to the lackluster time that Daniel Jones had with the Giants.

"The day he brought Giants cleats...dude became Daniel Jones"

Another fan made a bold comparison between the Colorado QB and Dallas QB Trey Lance.

"Shedeur Sanders just nepotism Trey Lance?"
"I can't imagine spending a 1st round pick on this kid, he will not be for long in the NFL," one fan said.
"He's been the same player this whole time. He isn't what his draft pick says he is, he is what he produces on an NFL field. They can draft him #1 or #214, don't matter. Somehow they think pushing him to the first overall pick makes him better," Another fan said.
"Haha Sanders is just another average player. BYU is crushing CO," one fan stated.
"LMFAO I wouldn't draft him," another fan stated.

Against the BYU Cougars, Shedeur Sanders completed 16 of the 23 passes he attempted on the field. He tallied a total of 208 yards and two touchdowns passing while also throwing two interceptions.

Shedeur Sanders shared why he decided to play through Colorado's blowout loss in the Alamo Bowl

The BYU Cougars' aggressive offense helped them take control throughout the entire game. By the end of the third quarter, the Colorado Buffaloes were already trailing 27-7.

Despite this, Shedeur Sanders decided to play throughout both halves of the Alamo Bowl. In the post-game press conference, the quarterback opened up about why he decided to not exit the game midway.

"We started so we had to finish it," Shedeur said. "That was simply it, no matter what it was, if it was the other way around. If we was that we're still gonna play regardless."

While Shedeur could not end his college career with a Bowl victory, he still has left a legacy to look back at in Boulder. The quarterback broke several program records this season and was awarded the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. It will be interesting to see how he performs professionally in the NFL next year.
