Shilo Sanders is sticking by his teammate, Travis Hunter, and has him over Ashton Jeanty to win the Heisman Trophy this year. Both Jeanty and Hunter are the top contenders to win the Heisman in 2024, but when recently asked who he would favor, Sanders said:

"He (Ashton Jeanty) is good, but it's like whenever you watch Colorado... Then you understand"

There's something to be said about Hunter's ability to play defense and offense. While doing that, he has managed to be a key member of the defense and their top wide receiver. In 74 receptions, he has recorded 911 yards, averaging 12.3 yards per catch and nine touchdowns. In defense, he has 23 total tackles, one forced fumble and three interceptions.

Meanwhile, Ashton Jeanty has managed to record 1893 rushing yards in 256 carries, with 26 touchdowns. He leads the nation in all of those categories and has already become Boise State's all-time single-season leading rusher.

Jeanty is on pace to break the school's all-time leading rusher record (4163 by Ian Johnson) and could potentially break Barry Sanders' single season all-time rushing record (2628 in 1988).

Ashton Jeanty breaks Jay Ajayi's single-season rushing record at Boise State

In Saturday's 42-21 victory over San Jose State, the Broncos tailback broke Jay Ajayi's 1823, 2014, single-season rushing record for the school. In a performance for the history books, Jeanty ran for 159 yards in 32 carries and scored three touchdowns, bolstering his Heisman case. Here's what Boise State's coach Spencer Danielson had to say about the performance:

"He's the best football player in the country, he is also a big-time leader and an elite human being."
