Colorado Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders is playing his final collegiate campaign before declaring for next year's NFL draft. Coach Prime's son transferred from Jackson State to the Buffs last year along with his brother and QB Shedeur Sanders.
However, Shilo Sanders' campaign might have come to an unfortunate end as he suffered an injury during Colorado's Week 2 showdown against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Shilo Sanders' injury update
According to Max Olson of ESPN, Deion Sanders told NBC that Shilo Sanders has broken his forearm and will be sidelined for the rest of the game. The Buffs were trailing 28-0 after the Nebraska Cornhuskers took a huge lead by the end of the first half.
After suffering from the injury in the first quarter, Shilo headed to the locker room and did not return to the field for the rest of the game. This comes as a heavy setback for the Buffs as the safety was one of Coach Prime's key players on defense.
They lost the Week 2 showdown against Nebraska 28-10 and will now have to recuperate and restrategize for the rest of the games of the season. For Shilo, a broken forearm means that he will now have to go through rehabilitation for two to six months. This is a huge blow to his final collegiate campaign before declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.
What happened to Shilo Sanders?
In the first half of the game, Nebraska's RB Dante Dowdell was running the ball up the middle of the field. This was also the Buffs' first drive on defense. He collided with Dante Dowdell while trying to stop his 13-yard run. This collision led to him injuring himself and breaking his forearm.
The Colorado safety was taken to the locker room to receive medical attention. However, he did not return to the game later on, indicating that his injury was serious. The proper diagnosis of Shilo's injury is yet to be made. Fans are waiting in anticipation for an update regarding the number of games Coach Prime's son is bound to miss to rehabilitate from his injury.
The Buffs did not have a great night against Matt Rhule's team. Despite their best efforts, they lost 28-10, giving the Cornhuskers redemption for last season's defeat. Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders did find LaJohntay Wester in the endzone in the fourth quarter. But it did not prove to be enough to give Coach Prime's team the victory.
