The Texas Longhorns pulled out all the stops, rolling out a fleet of Lamborghinis to impress their top prospects. The supercars were parked outside the Moncrief Athletics Center on Friday afternoon. They had some serious talent visiting, including 5-star ATH Michael Terry III.
But Colin Cowherd swooped in to take a jab at the Longhorns. He praised USC's approach in comparison, saying:
“I’m so glad USC doesn’t have to resort to Lamborghinis,” Cowherd tweeted. “Instead they offer a firm handshake, a fine education & 20% off to all other Trojans athletic events.”
Speaking of USC, they're killing it on the recruiting front. Coach Lincoln Riley has lined up a trio of five-star commitments, and they're looking solid for the 2025 football recruiting class.
USC is right up there with Ohio State, leading the way in snagging those five-star pledges, including Justus Terry, Julian Lewis, and Isaiah Gibson.
3-star CB Caleb Chester chooses Texas Longhorns post-Lamborghini showcase
The Texas football team has scored big with the commitment of 3-star CB Caleb Chester from Missouri City, Texas. Despite having official visits lined up with Texas A&M and Arkansas, Chester chose to commit to the in-state Longhorns, turning down offers from Texas A&M, TCU, Arkansas, and LSU.
This is a major win for the Texas Longhorns. Adding the Fort Bend Marshall CB to their 2025 class could also help with 2026 recruiting efforts for DB Isaiah Williams and LB Noriel Dominguez. With 11 commits already in the class, the Longhorns look forward to two massive official visit weekends in the next two weeks.
DL Colin Simmons and WR Ryan Wingo joined the Longhorns as top-rated recruits. Last month, four promising prospects joined the class, led by Shreveport (La.) Calvary Baptist running back James Simon. The four-star player is the No. 10 RB in the cycle according to 247 Sports.
March was great for USC coach Lincoln Riley and his staff in Los Angeles. They secured commitments from Justus Terry, a highly-rated defensive lineman from Manchester, and Isaiah Gibson, a talented edge player from Warner Robins.
Additionally, Julian Lewis, a five-star quarterback from Carrollton, Georgia, who has been committed to USC for quite some time, reclassified from the 2026 cycle in January.
