Steve Sarkisian and his Texas team suffered a disappointing loss to Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl on Friday night. The Longhorns were defeated 28-14 in a thrilling encounter at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Texas was considered a strong contender for the national championship throughout the season. The Longhorns are one of the most balanced teams in the landscape, possessing brilliant talents on both sides of the ball. However, they failed to live up to the expectations.

Steve Sarkisian’s wife, Loreal Sarkisian, supported and encouraged her husband. The wardrobe stylist penned a heartfelt message on her Instagram story, showcasing her confidence in him and what's to come.

“So proud of you 🤍 🤟🏾 God didn’t bring you this far to only bring you this far #allgasnobrakes,” Loreal wrote.

Loreal marked her presence at the playoffs semifinal game in Arlington on Friday. The Lo’s Wardrobe Bar founder was present in all three Texas games in the CFP.

Steve Sarkisian's view on the Cotton Bowl encounter

In his postgame press conference, Steve Sarkisian reflected on the loss to Ohio State. The coach appreciated the intensity of the game, praising the Buckeyes’ brilliance as a team while also expressing pride in the way his team fought.

“Hell of a football game,” Sarkisian said. “Two really good teams battling. They made two big plays. They hit the screen at the end of the first half and got the sack fumble on fourth down there for a touchdown. Two really good teams. Tons of credit to Ohio State. “
“They’re a very good football team, well-coached, hard-fought game. I’m really proud of our players for the resiliency they showed tonight to fight back to get into the game, to have an opportunity first to go on the one, and weren’t able to put it in.”

Texas failed to make the national championship game last season also, ending its campaign in the semifinal in the four-team College Football Playoff. The Longhorns were eliminated by Washington in the Sugar Bowl then.

Steve Sarkisian will look to get things together and ensure Texas comes back stronger in the 2025 season. The goal for next season will be to conquer the SEC and also claim the national championship, a difficult but achievable goal.
