It is an interesting thing to say on Twitter because at first glance DJ Uiagalelei is in his final year of NCAA eligibility. However, since he only played five games this year because of injuries, he might be able to appeal for a medical exemption. Typically, the cut-off for redshirting is a maximum of four games. However, sometimes there are exceptions given to injured players.

If Uiagalelei receives a medical exception and can return to the NCAA next year, he could stay with Florida State or transfer. It is unclear how much attention he would get as a transfer candidate. He was a highly sought-after player last off-season, coming off three straight 2200+ yard seasons.
