Deiondra Sanders, the eldest child of Deion Sanders and Carolyne Chambers, recently addressed a parenting decision involving her newborn son, Snow. Despite being deeply loved by both parents, Deiondra is navigating her own path as a mother, even if it differs from her mother’s advice.
After a challenging pregnancy marked by multiple surgeries, potential miscarriages and other complications, Deiondra has been thoughtful about every step of caring for her son. On Saturday, she turned to her Instagram followers for parenting advice, asking:
“Parents! What age did you start giving your baby cereal? My mom keep buggin me asking to give him some. Snow sleeps fine without it already.”
She also shared concerns about the safety of baby cereal and kept reading that a lot of cereals have heavy metals and toxins in them.
In a follow-up Instagram story, Deiondra apologized to her mother for taking a different approach:
“Welp after taking everyone answers and my own research into consideration,” she wrote. “Sorry mommy @carolynecsandersrealtor SNOW will not be on cereal right now.”
“Now after 5 months I am willing to start making Snow his own purees to give him ALONG with his soy and breastmilk,” she added.
Deiondra and her partner, R&B artist Jacquees, welcomed Snow earlier this year, coincidentally on the same birthday as her father, Deion Sanders. She shared the joyful news on Instagram on Aug. 9, celebrating the arrival of their son and her transition into motherhood.
