Cazeem Moore is a highly wanted player in the transfer portal. The defensive end from Elon played three successful years with the program and has been given offers from numerous top schools.
Also, during this period, Moore has visited many schools. But, he has decided against visiting one of them.
"Moore will no longer visit Colorado. Instead he will take a trip to Virginia, per a source. @JacquieFran_" 247 Sports' Chris Hummer tweeted.
Moore will visit the Virginia Cavaliers, alongside visits to the Cincinnati Bearcats and the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Moore was considering to visit the Colorado Buffaloes this week. Under coach Deion Sanders, the Buffaloes have been a hot spot for transfer prospects. In 2024, this plan worked, as the Buffaloes massively improved on their 4-8 2023 season and stayed in the race for the Big 12 Conference game until the very end.
Whatever program he eventually ends up at, Moore will make a massive jump from FCS to FBS level, something that he has earned due to his performances with the Phoenix over the last three years.
Cazeem Moore's three years at Elon
During his three years with the Elon Phoenix, Cazeem Moore recorded 98 tackles and 13 sacks. Most of these came during the 2024 season when Moore made 51 tackles and six sacks.
As for his program, the Elon Phoenix plays in the Coastal Athletic Association Conference and is generally a "middle power" in the conference.
Despite Moore's spectacular showing in 2024, he could not help the Phoenix make the FCS playoff bracket. They finished the season with a 6-6 (5-3 CAA) record, a slight improvement from their 6-5 record from 2023.
Moore's success at this program could be an example of a "big fish in a small pond," and he may have outgrown the program.
This, combined with the high level of interest that Moore has had since entering the transfer portal on Monday, indicates that Moore can excel in a top program.
