Deion Sanders had a great campaign this year with the Colorado Buffaloes after his 4-8 debut in the Pac-12 last season. He helped the Buffs secure a 9-3 record at the end of the regular season and got an Alamo Bowl showdown against the BYU Cougars.
Apart from this, the bowl game will also be the last time Deion Sanders' sons Shilo and Shedeur play in college. Unfortunately, things did not work in favor of the Colorado Buffaloes in the Valero Alamo Bowl. The BYU Cougars took home the victory after dominating the Buffs 36-14 at Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
In the postgame press conference, Deion Sanders applauded the BYU Cougars for their exceptional performance in the Bowl game. He also praised Kalani Sitake's team for their perseverance and gave a special shoutout to BYU's special teams, which made life difficult for the Buffs on the field.

"We're happy with the journey of getting here and being here and what transpired during the week," Coach Prime said. "Wonderful job, wonderful job by BYU. They were well-coached. They did a phenomenal job running the football."
"Special teams kicked out b***s. I mean we couldn't do nothing offensively much at all. Defensively, I think we had some sound stops. But we did have enough and we came out short. But no to take nothing from them. They played a heck of a football game."
Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes entered the Alamo Bowl game with a lot of expectations. Unfortunately, BYU was the better team and took control right in the first quarter after a touchdown by LJ Martin and a 51-yard field goal by Will Ferrin.
Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders did not create enough scoring chances to help the Buffs make a comeback. He completed 16 of 23 passes for a total of 208 yards and two touchdowns while throwing two interceptions.
Deion Sanders motivates Colorado players after Alamo Bowl loss to BYU
After the bowl game ended, Coach Prime met with the players in the locker room. There, he shared some encouraging words with the players and tried his best to fire them up while not letting them get demotivated by the loss.
Deion Sanders expressed his gratitude to all the players who were a part of the team this season. He also asked them to keep their heads held high and continue practicing to take their skills to the next level.
"Proud of each and every one of you. We didn't get the result we want. God is going to present you with a multitude of moments that you've got to have victory in. You've got to win them, you've got to dominate them, so you can elevate it to the next level."
"You only have a multitude of moments. You never know when it's going to be there, but you've got to dominate your moment and seize the moment. We didn't..... Let's learn from this. Let's understand what it is. Let's not be angry. It's a wrap. Let's be better. Let's not talk about one another. Let's not hate one another. Let's be on one another. We good with that?"
Apart from preparing for the next season, Deion Sanders will also be helping his sons Shedeur and Shilo gear up for the 2025 NFL Draft. It will be interesting to see if they can go on to have successful careers in the NFL like their father did back in the day.
