Steve Sarkisian's No. 3 Texas Longhorns will meet the No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs Saturday in the SEC Championship game. The Longhorns come into the game with an 11-1 record, having defeated the Texas A&M Aggies last Saturday.

However, there are questions about who will be the starting quarterback for Texas in this game. The Longhorns have a strong QB room, with regular starter Quinn Ewers and highly-touted backup Arch Manning taking snaps in recent games.

Ewers has generally struggled in these games, and there are calls for Manning to be given the starting role against the Bulldogs.

Sarkisian spoke to the media Monday and was asked if he plans to use Manning in the Longhorns' offense this weekend.

"We might. I don’t know. I would say, no, we haven’t fully opened our playbook because as a staff we sit around and think about our roster and we think about our team and we think about what we’re good at and we think about what we can improve, and we’re gonna run stuff Saturday that we haven’t run all year because of who were are as a team now and finding new ways to try and move the football and create issues for our opponents.”

In the last few games, Texas' offense has somewhat struggled in its victories. This is largely due to Ewers' inconsistencies. Since he came back from his ankle injury, he has struggled to reach over 300 passing yards and sometimes struggled to reach over 200 yards, especially against top defenses.

Having a strong quarterback who is able to perform in big games is the hallmark of national championship winning teams. While Ewers has proven himself in the past, he hasn't been as consistent this year. These struggles may cost the Longhorns a chance at a championship.

Will Arch Manning play?

The alternative to Ewers is Manning. He was one of the most talked about prospects in all of college football last season, a campaign he spent largely on the sidelines.

He was able to be more involved with the Longhorns this season and led the team to a few wins earlier in the year while Ewers was recovering from an injury. Here, fans saw what Manning was able to do, and they wanted to see more. However, Ewers returned and went back to his role as the starter.

Manning has played snaps in drives alongside Ewers this year and has been a breath of fresh air for the Longhorns when the more experienced QB is struggling.

While Sarkisian has not revealed anything about using Arch Manning in the SEC Championship game against Georgia Saturday, expect him to get some snaps in certain packages.
