The Texas Longhorns are preparing to face the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Cotton Bowl. This game is also a semi-final in the College Football Playoff, where the winner will face either Penn State or Notre Dame in the national championship game.

Victory will not come easy for Steve Sarkisian's side, as they face a Buckeyes team that has been able to dominate both the Tennessee Volunteers and the Oregon Ducks. To keep up with them, the Longhorns are going to need to have a strong offense, and this starts with their quarterback, Quinn Ewers.

On Thursday's edition of "Always College Football," former LSU Tiger Booger McFarland said that Ewers and the offense need to channel a pair of Hollywood actors if they are going to win this game.

"I think that's the word for Texas. Be aggressive. It's almost like in that movie, 'Jumanji,' when The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) and Kevin Hart are in the forest and they put their hands in, and it's like, 'Be aggressive, be be aggressive.' That needs to be the mantra of the Texas Longhorns." (3:20)

The Longhorns do have a talented offense, with numerous weapons that have been able to lead this team to victory. The likes of Matthew Golden, Gunner Helm and Quintrevion Wiser are just a few of these players who have shown that they are good enough to lead Texas to a national championship.

However, Quinn Ewers, while a good quarterback, has struggled for much of this season. He has thrown for 3,189 yards and 29 touchdowns, which are strong numbers. But Ewers has also made his fair share of mistakes, throwing 11 interceptions and being sacked many times.

This, paired with his sometimes cautious play, has at times not been helpful for Texas.

Playing this way against Ohio State is not going to give them the win. The Buckeyes are likely to start the game on all cylinders and be very attacking in their offense. The only way Texas can stay in the game is to match them and "Be aggressive."

Quinn Ewers on what he is focusing on before the Cotton Bowl

As well as preparing for the Cotton Bowl, Quinn Ewers is also dealing with media speculation about his future. With the Longhorns likely to turn to backup quarterback Arch Manning for the 2025 season, Ewers will need to find somewhere else to play football.

This could be in the NFL or at another college program. Both options have been covered recently. However, Ewers is not focusing on this for now, with his mind on only one thing at the moment.

"Right now, I’m just not worried about all that stuff. People can say all they want to say. I’m just focused on Friday at this point in time," Ewers said.

The Cotton Bowl and leading his team to victory and a spot in the national championship is the only thing that Ewers is focusing on.

By doing this, he is making himself ready for what could be the biggest, and most important, game in his career. The result of this could have an impact on the decision he makes about the future.
