"Still pi***d the Raiders fired his son": Fans call out Mike Lombardi as he targets Raiders' culture amid Bill Belichick rumors 

Legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick has been in the news a lot in the past month. He first made headlines in early December when he signed a five-year, $50 million contract to become the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels. However, since then there have been several rumors that NFL teams are interested in luring him back.

The most notable team reportedly interested in Belichick is the Las Vegas Raiders. With Tom Brady a new minority owner of the team, it is not hard for fans and media members to link Belichick to the team. As a result, UNC general manager Mike Lombardi has been trying to shut down any of the rumors.

Lombardi appeared on "The Jim Rome Show" on Friday to discuss the rumors. He talked about how he does not think the Raiders have a good culture, and as a result, it does not make sense for Belichick to go there.

"[The Raiders] smoked cigars last year after they won a regular season game. Is that really The Patriot Way? I don't think so," Lombardi said.

Several fans did not like Lombardi's comments. One even called him out for still being bitter over the Raiders firing his son, Mick Lombardi, as offensive coordinator in 2023.

"Dude is still pi***d the Raiders fired his son because he was a god awful coach," one fan wrote.

"Lombardi has been a hater for a while. Anything he says is vengeful and not worth listening to," one fan commented.

"Mike is a Raider Hater, Jim. Any time talks about the Raiders, his and his family's history with the organization needs to be mentioned as a disclaimer. He's bitter," one fan added.

Fans continued to criticize Lombardi for his bias against the Raiders in the comments.

"Lombardi is still bitter about his kid getting sh*tcanned last year. I'd take anything he says with a grain of salt," one fan wrote.

"What a dumb thing to say. That was under a regime that is all gone lol what does that have to do with the team now," one fan commented.

"Nobody gives a f*ck what Lombardi has to say about the Raiders," one fan added.

Bill Belichick's interest in returning to the NFL is unclear

While there are rumors that NFL teams are interested in Bill Belichick, his interest to return is unclear. He is only a month removed from signing his $50 million contract with UNC. Additionally, Belichick has been traveling around the country visiting high school recruits.

So far, the rumors have only been that teams are interested. There has been no proof that any talks have occurred between Bill Belichick and NFL teams.
