Fans reacted on social media after Steve Sarkisian's 2026 recruiting class took a big hit when four-star RB Raycine Guillory Jr. announced his de-commitment from the Texas Longhorns.
Texas landed a pledge from five-star QB Dia Bell for the 2026 class, but Guillory decided to de-commit from the program on Thursday as per On3's Hayes Fawcett, leaving Bell as the sole commit of the class so far.
Raycine Guillory Jr. had been committed to Steve Sarkisian's Longhorns since January 2024. The four-star in-state prospect out of Aledo High School is ranked as the nation's No. 189 overall prospect, as per 247Sports' Composite ranking.

Following his decision, fans took to X/Twitter to express their opinion on Guillory's de-commitment:
Another fan pointed out that verbal commitments don't carry the same weight as they did before:
"Commitments don't seem to mean as much as they used to."
Another fan joked that maybe Raycine Guillory Jr. was not interested in a luxury car, referring to the program's tactic of having Lamborghinis out during official visits of potential recruits:
"Maybe he didn't want a Lamborghini."
Another fan felt that the Longhorns will compensate by signing better running backs in the future:
"Lol texas will sign 2 rbs better guaranteed."
One fan gave his best wishes to Guillory for the future:
"Well that's disappointing but I respect the young man's decision to find the right place for him. Wish him nothing but the best in his choice."
Another fan felt that the Longhorns' strong RB room was a factor influencing Raycine Guillory's decision:
"Surprised it took this long. Insiders have hinted at this for a while. RB room is very strong at Texas, surprised he committed that early."
Which teams are still in pursuit of Raycine Guillory Jr.?
Last season, after transferring from Lakeridge to Aledo, Guillory went on to record 1,236 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns for the program. Apart from Texas, USC, SMU and Arkansas are said to be in close pursuit of the four-star RB.
As per On3's recruiting prediction machine, the SMU Mustangs are the favorites to land his commitment. It will be interesting to see which program Guillory ultimately chooses to begin his collegiate journey with.
